Ofelia Rodríguez

She was born in Havana. At the age of 6, he began his approach to dance in the vocational workshops of the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company and the "Fernando Alonso" National Ballet School, where she attended the elementary level since 2013. In 2018 she entered the Acosta Academy Dance, where she attended the middle level of artistic education. During those years she performed choreographies such as the “Waltz of the hours”, from the Coppelia ballet and “The waltz of the flowers”, from the Nutcracker; Avium, by Ely Regina and Siervo, by Héctor Rodríguez. She was part of presentations of Don Quixote Suite, by Carlos Acosta, together with the Acosta Danza company. In April 2019, she participated in the public performance together with the Acosta Danza Company at the inauguration of the Línea Street Cultural Corridor, as part of the XIII Havana Contemporary Arts Biennial. In 2020 she was recognized for her participation as an interpreter of the solo Veela, by María C. Samper, in the First Choreographic Contest of the Acosta Danza Academy. In November 2021, she is part of the dancers of the Stretch Timemonochromes Project, by Belgian choreographer Isabella Soupart, in the Cuban Art building of the National Museum of Fine Arts, during the celebration of the 14th Havana Contemporary Art Biennial. She graduated in 2022 and went on to join the founding cast of Acosta Danza Yunior. She has played the main solo role of Satori, by Raúl Reinoso and Impronta, by María Rovira and has danced in works such as De punta a cabo, in a version of the original by Alexis Fernández (Maca).
