Inspired by the lyrical universe of literature and its confluence across the arts, Belles-Lettres progresses between intimacy and vehemence like the chamber music of César Franck that propels it. The choreographer has woven this piece together like an established yet ever-current text that opens before the eyes of the reader. With a cast of nine dancers – four couples and a soloist – the piece, debuted in 2014, is the seventh ballet created by Peck for the New York City Ballet. Cuban premiere by Acosta Danza on 21 April 2017 at the Gran Teatro de La Habana ‘Alicia Alonso’.
