ACOSTA DANZA WILL PRESENT A SEASON DEDICATED TO CUBA AT THE TEATRO NACIONAL
Tue, 18/01/2022 - 17:44

Acosta Danza will present the "100% Cubano" season in the Avellaneda Hall of the Teatro Nacional on January 28, 29 and 30, which will mark its return to the stage after a year of distance imposed by the Covid 19 Pandemic.

The show, made up of works that celebrate Cuba, brings two world premieres as its main attraction. The first will be "Liberto", by Raul Reinoso, inspired by works of Cuban literature, which talks about the historical shame of slavery. The work has an original music by Pepe Gavilondo, costume designs by Alisa Peláez and lights created by Yaron Abulafia.

The other world premiere will be "Híbrido", choreography by Norge Cedeño, with original music by Jenny Peña and Randy Araújo, costumes designed by Celia Ledón and scenery and lights by Yaron Abulafia. This creation is a reflection of the author on the spirit of resilience of Cubans.

Completing the program are the works "Paysage, soudain, la nuit", by Pontus Lidberg; "Impronta", by María Rovira and "De punta a cabo", choreography based on the original by Alexis Fernández (Maca).

Another attraction offered this season will be the presentation to the public of the first group of dancers from the company's Academy who from that moment will be part of the cast of Acosta Danza. This new generation of artists will be sharing the stage for the first time with the company's established dancers.

Tickets for the presentations will be on sale starting Tuesday, January 25, at nine in the morning, at the box office of the Teatro Nacional de Cuba.
