The Acosta Danza Academy has just graduated the second class of dancers specialized in mixed technique who, during three years of studies, completed their artistic training at the teaching center.
The fourteen young people, from different Cuban provinces and countries such as the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, were selected after several rigorous auditions in 2018. The previous training of each of them in dance or ballet was completed at the academy directed by Carlos Acosta , which has the purpose of training professional dancers that integrate the cast of the Acosta Danza company and are capable of assuming the most dissimilar dance styles.
In three academic years —dilated in its last stage by the Covid 19 pandemic— the students received classes in ballet, modern, contemporary and folkloric dance, languages, art history, choreographic composition, ballroom dance workshops, acting, among others disciplines.
